My City My SM My Art | Brilliante Mendoza Film Appreciation

I am not much of a film buff, but I knew what it meant when I heard the name Brillante Mendoza and the film appreciation I was attending in SM SeaSide City.


Brillante Mendoza is a multi-awarded film maker and CEO of Centerstage Productions. Most of his films capture the vivid color of the Filipino culture and life’s bitter-sweet veracities. He also directed the film Taklub. You can know more about him here. Or in his site and twitter page.

Taklub is a film portraying the grim realities after Yolanda (internationally known as Haiyan) swooped the Philippines, especially Tacloban City.


The film revolves around the lives of Bebeth, Larry and Erwin and what it means to move forward after Haiyan stormed their lives and loved ones away.
